The challenge.

Bundlee sought a complete branding design service that would position the direct-to-consumer service as a high-quality and sustainable alternative to ‘fast-baby-fashion’. They are set to change our buying habits and the way parents think about clothing for babies from ages 0 - 24 months - watch this space!

One main challenge was reaching parents and their families during pregnancy - before expectant grandparents spoil their future grandchildren. Often first-time parents are inundated with impractical (yet cute!), poor-quality garments, that are often worn only once for a photo before being stuffed into a drawer at home.

Bundlee provides an incredible solution, they send a monthly clothing delivery that matches perfectly to your baby’s size. Once your child outgrows the first set, simply return the first delivery, and an entire updated wardrobe is sent to you in the next size up - smart, huh? The original clothing is carefully cleaned and sent to a new family to enjoy. Wait, that’s not all… Bundlee clothing is 100% designed and made in the UK and each garment is created for every stage of the baby’s development.

The solution.

Working with feedback from parents on online forums, Bundlee has gained a comprehensive understanding of their priorities, buying habits and pain points, which were fed directly into our design decisions. Initially, we worked to develop a brand identity that would appear friendly and appealing, and deliver on the promise of ‘sustainable baby clothing’. A supporting suite of brand icons and illustrations accompanied the brand logotype.

The Modern Designer was commissioned to design a presentation deck enabling Bundlee founder, Eve to present the business to stakeholders, and pitch to potential brand partners. They successfully secured partnerships with Patagonia, MORI, and Mini Rodini, among others.

Our latest project was focused on a range of printed marketing materials to accompany every Bundlee delivery. The mailout will educate parents around the issues of sustainability and highlight the positive impact of the Bundlee circular business model. We produced printed postcards and a folded brochure, all of which further developed the visual style that would ensure a consistent experience across all customer touchpoints.

Grow sustainably.

Using anecdotal feedback meant we could be confident that the creative decisions we made would actively engage parents in the issues that matter most to them. Once we understood their buying habits, we were able to strategically position the brand at the right moment in the buying decision.

Education became a big focus for our printed material, we know we needed to increase awareness around the environmental impact of ‘fast-baby-fashion’, and to help parents make purchasing decisions that reduce their impact on the planet.

Meaningful impact.

Our branding work with Bundlee has helped in some part to grow the business from a amazing concept and a team of one - to an attractive disruptor within the market. Their example is setting the tone for conversations around sustainability - not only in baby clothing but right across the fashion industry. There is still a long way to go, as they say, “old habits die hard.”

At the time of publication, Bundlee has been featured on The Guardian, Vogue, BBC Earth, Eco-Age and BBC News. They have won awards for their sustainable credentials and founder, Eve was named as 'one-to-watch’ in Forbes 30 under 30. Not bad, hey?
